Originally built in 1891, this National Historic Property gives you a glimpse of life at Government House at the turn of the 20th Century.

Government House is a Heritage Facility that also serves as the Lieutenant Governor’s working office. Several events, award ceremonies and visitors are hosted by the Lieutenant Governor at the Government House.

Providing a glimpse of bygone Victorian splendor, the Government House is truly a trip not to miss. Learn about Saskatchewan’s history, and its association with the British Crown. Visitors can gain a deeper understanding of the evolving constitutional roles of the lieutenant governor in Canadian Society, as well as insight into the daily activities of the position.

The Queen Elizabeth II Art Gallery showcases exhibits of provincial artisans. The 8.5 acre beautiful Edwardian Gardens built by landscape gardener George Watt will transport you back to early 1900s. The interactive play area for the kids is sure to keep your child entertained.

The feature exhibit showcases a new theme annually and has previously showcased past Lieutenant Governors, royal visits, and specific time periods of Government House’s history.

Relax with a book or just enjoy your time with friends while soaking in sunshine at the beautiful Sylvia Fedoruk Conservatory. Visitors can also bring their own food to enjoy.

Indoor and outdoor tours are provided. These tours offer insights into the rich history, heritage, and the enchanting Edwardian Gardens. For guided indoor tours, it is recommended to book a time slot using the provided link.

Time your visit on the first Sunday of the month from March to December to enjoy Victorian Tea. Reserve your visit in advance to enjoy this unforgettable experience. A fee is charged for the tea session.

If you love photo ops, you will have a blast getting photographed in period costumes.

Events: Government House is also the venue for fun family events & concerts throughout the year.

Free Admission.

Donations are gratefully accepted, suggested levels are:

Adults: $6.00
Seniors (65+) and Youth (12-18): $5.00
Children/Students: $3.00
Families: $15.00

Your donation will be used by the Government House Historical Society to support programs, exhibits and collection care.

Cash, debit and credit donations are accepted.

 

How to get to Government House?

Government House is located at 4607 Dewdney Ave, just three blocks West of Levan Drive.

Visitor Parking lot is available. Please make use of the Visitor Parking lot at Connaught Street.

Buses can drop their groups off at the sidewalk entrance in the Visitor Parking lot.

Accessible by public transport – visit Regina Transit or the Regina TransitLive site.
