2023 Calgary Stampede Parade Marshal: Jeremy Hansen
The Parade will be led by Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen. Hansen will become the first Canadian to venture to the moon as part of the historic Artemis II mission. It’s the first crewed mission to leave Earth’s orbit since 1972 and will pave the way for deeper space exploration, including to Mars.
Honourary Parade Marshal: General Wayne Eyre
As Chief of the Defense Staff, General Wayne Eyre oversees the military’s mission to defend Canada’s values, interests and sovereignty at home and abroad.

Free to view. — The sidewalks along 6 and 9 Avenues are available for free to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bleacher Seats to view the parade: Paid.

Go straight from the Parade to the Park and receive FREE admission from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

7:30 a.m. – Parade Prelude
The Parade Prelude kicks off at 7:30 a.m. with 30 incredible and entertaining acts featuring over 1,500 performers to warm up the crowd for the main show beginning at 9 a.m.
8:55 a.m. – The parade starts at the intersection of 9th Avenue and 1st Street S.E
Parade Duration: Approximately 2 hours
Parade Route:
- begins at 9th Avenue and 3rd Street SE and travels west
o turns north at 9th Avenue and 10th Street SW;
o turns east at 6th Avenue and 10th Street SW; and,
o finishes at 6th Avenue and 4th Street SE
