About Black Cultural Centre for Nova Scotia, Halifax

The Black Cultural Centre for Nova Scotia provides educational and cultural experience to its visitors about the the largest indigenous Black community in Canada. The museum was established in 1983 and is run by The Society for the Protection and Preservation of Black Culture, a charitable organization.

Things to Do at Black Cultural Centre for Nova Scotia

Explore the rich cultural history of the largest indigenous black community through the vast collection of stories and memorabilia that includes community life, religious life, military service and migration dating back to the 1600s.

Children can learn about African Canadian Heritage in a fun atmosphere.

Take part in the events at the Centre including concerts, as well as educational activities in the form of workshops, lectures and guided tours.

Guided tours for groups are available for schools, businesses, organizations and private groups.

The venue can also be rented for private functions.
