About Patricia Lake Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada
Named after Princess Patricia of Connaught, granddaughter of Queen Victoria, Patricia Lake is located in the Athabasca river valley.
Patricia lake was the site for Project Habbakuk: project to use ice-based composite material to construct unsinkable aircraft carrier during World war II.

Things to do at Patricia Lake Jasper
Enjoy the calm lake back dropped by the Pyramid mountain as you hike along the lakeshore trail. See the Lake from its Southern shore (near the Patricia Lake Bungalows to appreciate the scenery better).
Swim in the Patricia Lake and have a fun time at the lake shore beach.
Canoe or Kayak in the lake.
Enjoy fishing. National park license required. Bait banned.
Try to spot birds like see herons, loons & chickadee.
View wildlife including elk near the lake in the morning and evenings.
Scuba dive to see the remains of Project Habakuk. Open water certification required.

Patricia Lake Circle Loop Hike
Patricia Lake Circle loop is of 4.8 km with 75 m elevation gain and starts from the trail head across road from the Jasper riding stables. The trail passes through the Patricia Lake shoreline near the Patricia Lake Bungalows. It goes around the Bangalows to Cottonwood slough. This trail provides ample wildlife watching opportunities especially in mornings and evenings. Beaver ponds can be seen at Cottonwood slough. – Trail map
