Events Description
The Edmonton Short Film Festival (ESFF) is dedicated to the elevation of Independent short film. The ESFF gala event showcases Alberta filmmakers with films up to 15 minutes and our Long Shorts program screens Alberta films over 15 minutes PLUS films up to 60 minutes from anywhere in the world. The short films we screen are often considered to be outside of the “normal” festival market. We feature diverse projects (newly created or “dusted off” favourites) including trailers, music videos, web series, commercials, and any genre short film. O Films from outside of Alberta, any length up to 60 minutes, any creation date are to be submitted under the Long Shorts category.
Edmonton Short Film Festivals 11th annual gala will take place on Oct13th-15th this year. With a filmmaker evening on the Friday with special guests Dr. Leslie McMichael and Steve McMichael discussing stunt work and the dangers that come with it. Saturday is the gala and red carpet with entirely Alberta made films. And Sunday afternoon will have International Films and Long Shorts (between 20-60 minutes). As well, Lisa Datz, industry professional will be in attendance to discuss her work and her project “Life of Riley”
