About Chinese Cultural Centre Calgary

chinese-cntre-1Styled after the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, Chinese Cultural Centre, Calgary with its traditional architecture and decor is the largest facility of its kind in North America.

The wooden dome of the main hall ( Dr. Henry Fok Cultural Hall) which is centrum of the cultural centre, was built entirely in Beijing, then dissembled and shipped to Calgary.

The same team of craftsmen who restored the Beijing Temple of Heaven, re-built the roof and did the interior of the hall. The second level of the building contains classrooms and a library with books in Chinese and English (Orrin and Clara Christie Might Library). The main level hosts a restaurant, a Chinese arts and crafts store and a traditional Chinese medicine facility. The Chinese Artifacts Museum is located on the lower level of the centre.
