Created in 1997, the goal of the Latin American Film Festival has always been to increase the awareness, appreciation, and understanding of Latin American cinema in Canada’s capital.
The Latin American Film Festival is now one Ottawa’s most eagerly anticipated annual cultural events.
The event features only contemporary Ottawa premieres, gleaned from the screens of such festivals as Cannes, Berlin, Toronto, and Chicago to celebrate the rich and diverse cultures of Latin America.
With the generous support of GRULA, we are proud to open this year’s 21st Latin American Film Festival with an evening of art, music, dance, food, and drink in celebration of the varied and exuberant culture of Latin America! On Wednesday, April 12th, join us at Arts Court for ¡Fiesta Latina! and enjoy a wide variety of fare and fun organized by the Canadian Film Institute and provided by Ottawa’s own Latin American community.
