A hard working peasant embarks on a pilgrimage to meet God and beg Him for a better life. In the course of his journey he runs into several other characters who ask him to to take their messages to God as well. Upon his return he passes on the responses he has received, to each of the characters who had made a request. His adventures through this journey shape the plot of this story.‘The Wise Man’, a free adaptation from ‘The Unwise Man’ by Hovhannes Tumanyan (Armenian author and poet), co-directed by Sahar Shahgaldi and Maneli Vafadari , was staged for the first time at the HIGH-FEST International Performing Arts Festival in Armenia, and received a warm welcome from the audience and the organizers.
This special performance is part of the Nowruz celebration weekend at the Toronto Centre for the Arts and it is free for all to enjoy.
