Wavelength warms up winter with the 24th annual Wavelength Winter Festival!

It’s our 24th anniversary, and once again we’re excited to bring together the local music community for one cozy weekend of programming — championing diverse, emerging artists while animating new and innovative music spaces across the city.

Thursday February 29 — In partnership with the City of Toronto’s Music Office
PANEL DISCUSSION – “East to West: Meet Toronto’s New Music Spaces” feat. Hugh’s Room Live, It’s OK* Studios, Lynx Music, more
Followed by performances by:
BEAMS (Toronto – East-end psych folk-rock scene stalwarts)
JUST PRINCE (Toronto – Acoustic guitarist weaves Eastern scales and Western melodies with songs in English, Hindi and Punjabi)

Friday March 1 — Co-presented with Hart House
DIJAHSB (Toronto – Black nonbinary rapper paints a vivid sonic landscape through hypnotic synth loops, heart-thumping bass claps, and deeply personal lyrics)
BIG SISSY (Montreal – Drag artistry meets pro-Black, pro-sex beats in a mesmerizing blend of post-disco and electro-clash)
JANETTE KING (Montreal – Caribbean-Canadian alt-R&B singer/songwriter and producer, Hot Tramp Records)
CAIJO (Toronto – Zimbabwean-Canadian emcees crossfades from heavyweight hip-hop to modern funk-rock grooves)

CHARLES SPEARIN (Toronto – more sonic explorations and communal meditations from Broken Social Scene / Do Make Say Think co-founder)
COTS (Montreal/Guelph – bossa, jazz and folk come together in sensitive songcraft – feat. Bry Webb of Constantines – Boiled Records)
Downstairs:
KALI HORSE (Toronto – psych-rock duo dives into a sludge of Eastern folk music and Western art-rock and vocal harmonies)
LOVE LANGUAGE (Montreal – Indigenous-led lo-fi indie-rock crew bring that fuzzy ‘90s teen-movie feel)
ANIMATIST (Toronto – experimental rock quartet seamlessly blends math, post, and progressive rock influences)
