Join us for a FREE party to celebrate the launch of The Power Plant’s Winter 2017 Exhibition Season! Be the first to experience exhibitions by Jonathas de Andrade, Maria Hupfield and Kapwani Kiwanga, with the second iteration of the Fleck Clerestory Commission Project by Latifa Echakhch still on view.
Winter 2017 at The Power Plant launches a year of unique programming that reflects upon Canada’s 150th anniversary. The exhibitions refer in distinct ways to Canada’s history and our current culturally diverse population by considering all who populated and co-existed on this land before the terms of the 1867 Confederation, exploring the consequences of the country’s past relationship to indigenous people and African slaves on our present, and envisioning what this means for our shared future.
