Casa Loma Toronto Castle & gardens

About Casa Loma Toronto, Ontario

The House on the Hill, Casa Loma was the residence of Sir Henry Mill Pellatt, a Canadian Financier. The mansion, which was the largest private residence of the era, was built from 1911 – 1914. The first world war and the great depression caused financial difficulties for Sir Pellatt and the City of Toronto took over Casa Loma. In it’s 100 years of existence, Casa Loma has served as a Luxury hotel, famous nightspot and also as a secret facility for sonar research during World War II.

Since 1930’s, the majestic Casa Loma has been a tourist destination beckoning visitors to step back in time to a period of European elegance and splendour.

I went a long time ago to this Ontario tourist place, and like other experiences it was a special time of too short memories. Ontario is the hub capital of tourism with many attractions like the African Lion Safari, Wonderland, War Heritage Museum, Niagara Falls and more. I would love to take my family to enjoy a province full of vibrancy that is different from the beauty of the westcoast. Kerwin Maude, Vancouver
