Organized by Watermark Beach Resort & Conference Centre in partnership with Covert Farms, this tour is a culinary experience that spans across different terrains and ecosystems including the rare antelope-brush ecosystem, bluffs, plateaus, and valleys.

A Culinary Tour through Canada’s Desert is a Canadian Signature Experience.

 

What to Do at A Culinary Tour through Canada’s Desert?

The tour begins at the Watermark Beach Resort on Osoyoos Lake. Journey onto Canada’s only pocket desert at the Covert Farms in the south Okanagan Valley. Travel through sandy regions left behind by the melting of Ice Age glaciers. Guests are taken through rare antelope-brush ecosystem, breath taking landscapes including steep bluffs, sandy plateaus, and the lush 650-acre Covert Farms in a vintage 1952 Mercury Truck. Along the way, taste peaches, strawberries, tomatoes, musk melons, grapes in the vineyard, delicious wines and more. An educational and culinary experience for everyone.

Best time to visit: June – August are the hottest months, Spring and fall temperatures are pleasant. Visit in April to see blooming antelope-brush and bittercup sagebrush.

Watermark Beach Resort Hotel is located at 15 Park Place, Osoyoos, BC. About 1.5 hours from Kelowna and less than 5-hour drive from Vancouver. Guests staying at the Resort can add the tour to their accommodation package. Guests from the resort are taken to the Covert Farms on a shuttle bus to begin the tour.

Covert Farms is a 650-acre organic farm that is known for their fresh produces and local wines at 300 Covert Pl, Oliver, BC. The farm is less than 30-minute drive from the Resort.

Sunscreen, sunglasses and hats will be useful. Dress for walking.
