Replicating Artifacts will have children recreate a famous sculpture out of wax, linking to exhibiting artist Morehshin Allahyari’s sculptures. Allahyari’s sculptures replicate destroyed artifacts using a 3D printer, embedding a microchip containing images, maps, information, and videos to memorialize these lost works. The wax blocks will correspond to information about the sculpture the child chooses to recreate. Children will be taught basic carving skills and techniques. Details

Kala Bhavan of Calgary (KBC) is a local Indian dance school which was founded by Roma Thakore in 1987 after she immigrated to Canada from India. This May we are celebrating our 30th anniversary with a musical production called, Devdasi: A tale of the temple dancers.
