All want a better life, so they set off on into the woods. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them with disastrous results. INTO THE WOODS reminds us there will be times when each of us must journey into the woods but that we must mind the future and the past. Details

A tale of a traveling sales conman who convinces the small Iowan townfolk of River City that in order to keep their youth out of trouble they must keep them busy through forming a marching band. 3. 60th Anniversary Week
Besides the many great pianists and saxophonists being featured during the Piano City weekend and the Jazz Zenith weekend, Edmonton has produced many other fine jazz musicians. The Anniversary Weekend will feature different groups of jazz musicians each night. The actual anniversary night will feature mainly the most established local jazz musicians with the longest standing at the Yardbird Suite. On Friday, March 24, we will feature musicians who have been on the Edmonton jazz scene for a number of years. On Saturday, March 25, it will be time for some of our rising stars along with some of Edmonton’s other all-star jazz musicians to take the stage. Details

4. Victory At Vimy With Ted Barris
Join Festival Place and author/military historian Ted Barris in a presentation recognizing the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. The Battle of Vimy Ridge is Canada’s most celebrated military victory and is often cited as a seminal moment in the discovery of Canada’s nationhood. In addition to Mr. Barris’ presentation, Festival Place will host a major display of World War 1 materials including small arms, flags, uniforms and printed materials from the private collection of Allen Kerr. 7. Panache Pt Deux: The Triumph of the Ponce
Join us for a flamboyantly courageous explosion of satire and circus. We didn’t think we would need to do this sequel, but here we are. Ponce de Ponce de Panache returns as Supreme Leader of La Cité. Along with him are his outrageous cabinet ministers, a team of astonishingly strong, athletic and amazing contemporary circus artists.
