1. Birds Hill Provincial Park
Celebrate winter at one of Manitoba’s favourite parks! The park that is home to the Winnipeg Folk Festival in summer, becomes a hub for family fun and educational winter activities as nights become longer than days. From skiing, snowmobiling, horse riding trails, and even dog-sledding, there are lots of activities you can enjoy in the park.
While many visitors flock to the park for its excellent cross-country ski trails and snowmobile trails, the park is also popular with fat bikes and winter cyclists. Trails such as Oak Ridge and Lakeview are groomed solely for fat bikes, while winter cyclists can enjoy the Oak Ridge Mt. Bike and Sparrow Trails.
Cedar Bog trail is a popular destination for winter hiking. Other trails for hiking are the Sparrow Trail, Nimowin Trail. The park also provides guided experiences to enjoy. Pre-registration is required for most activities. Details

2. Beaudry Provincial Park
Located along the Assiniboine River, Beaudry Park is a place that reconnects you with nature. Spot shelter foxes, raccoons, muskrat, white-tailed deer as well as other wildlife amongst snow-laden Maple trees, cottonwood, and basswood. Drive to the park on a winter weekend and enjoy this less known piece of Manitoba.
Cross-country skiing, walking, and snowshoeing are popular activities here during winter. The Maple Trail, Elm Trail, Basswood, Oak, and Wild Grape trails are suitable for novice skiers. Want to take your children along? The Oak Trail allows you to pull children on sleighs! Details

3. Whiteshell Provincial Park
With over 70 kilometers of cross-country trails and 250 kilomerters o0f snowmobile trails, the park beckons all to a winter adventure. Be it ice fishing, horseback riding, camping, or snowshoeing, you are sure to love the time you spend in the crisp clean air of the park.
Whiteshell is also a place that you can visit during the winter months, just to enjoy the beauty of the park. Visit during the early winter months for a magical morning! Enjoy a walk from Jessica Lake to Rainbow Falls along Loop B. The park conducts guided activities such as voyageur snowshoe hikes, ice fishing, ski clinics during the winter season. 4. Hecla/Grindstone Provincial Park
Classified as a Natural Park, the Hecla Provincial Park comprises a number of islands in Lake Winnipeg. When snow covers the park, turning it pristine white, it is time to put on your skiing gear or zoom on the snowmobile. Truly a park for outdoor enthusiasts!!
You might want to try cross-country skiing. The cross-country ski trails are designed for novice to intermediate skiers. For a milder adventure, snowshoe the Cattail trail or Lighthouse Trail. These trails are groomed solely for hiking or snowshoeing. Ice fishing and tobogganing are other activities to enjoy. Details
5. Turtle Mountain Provincial Park
A haven for mountain biking enthusiasts in summer, it transforms into a winter enthusiast’s paradise offering activities like skiing, snowmobiling, tobogganing, and ice fishing amongst its snow-blanketed lakes and aspen forests.

6. Duck Mountain Provincial Park
Located in the heart of Duck Mountain Provincial Forest, Duck Mountain Provincial Park has what makes outdoors in winter truly great – plentiful snow.

7. Spruce Woods Provincial Park
Mixed-grass prairie and remnant boreal forest, dunes that shift with the wind; the stretches of open sand contrasted with a lush oasis of spruce trees makes a journey to Spruce woods Provincial Park both adventurous and natural in summer. When old man winter waves his magic wand, enjoy great forest runs and steep valleys through cross country skiing or snow-shoeing. Marvel at the winter scenery, beautiful woods, and open vistas.
Fat biking, tabogganing, skijoring, dog sledding are other activities that can be enjoyed. Designated snowmobile trails will allow you to visit many parts of the park.
Trails such as the Epinette, Seton, and Yellow Quill trails have several hike or ski-in campsites. Visitors who want to enjoy a quiet winter walk can enjoy the Marshs Lake and Parsons Hill, groomed solely for hiking or snowshoeing! Details
8. Clearwater Lake Provincial Park
A natural park well known for its deep, spring-fed cold lake with clear water and large lake trouts become an ice fishing enthusiast’s haven when the lake freezes in winter. In addition, one can also enjoy over 8 kilometers of ski trails.
Skating and tobogganing can also be enjoyed at the park. The snowmobile trails in the park are connected to other trail systems. The park also has a winter day-use area, located east of Pioneer Bay off PR 287. Details

9. Grand Beach Provincial Park
One of the busiest summer parks in the Prairies characterized by warm sandy beaches and dunes becomes a serene spot to enjoy a winter walk. You can also spot animals like White-tail deer, and pine marten when you go cross country skiing.
The cross-country ski trails at Grand Beach is one of southern Manitoba’s finest ski trails. There are different ski trails are designed for the novice, intermediate and expert skiers.

10. Paint Lake Provincial Park
Come winter and you can find people donning their skies, going tobogganing, or get on their snowmobile at this park evolved over thousands of years from clay and silt deposition over a vast glacial lake.
Fishing enthusiasts can try ice fishing on Mid Lake and Liz Lake. The 30 km long Thompson trail is popular with snowmobilers. There are also several cross-country ski trails located in the park.
Ice skating can be enjoyed by visitors during the months of February to April. Details
11. Camp Morton Provincial Park

13. Nopiming Provincial Park
Meaning ‘Entrance to the wilderness,” in the Anishinabe language, Nopiming Provincial Park is truly an accessible wilderness. See moose and woodland caribou as you swish past the snow-blanketed landscape.
