Events Description
Sinfonia Ancaster is AMAC’s resident symphony orchestra! In the exciting finale to their 2025-2026 season, Sinfonia’s own Principal cellist, Amber Ghent, will captivate the audience with a performance of Elgar’s Cello Concerto, an elegiac masterpiece (and his last major work). Also on the program, the orchestra performs Samy Moussa’s shimmering piece Elysium, which paints a breathtaking sonic picture of the afterlife. Finally, towering and magnificent 3rd Symphony of Saint-Saëns, with guest artist Ian Sadler on organ, will have you on your feet!
Made famous by its appearance on the soundtrack for the 1995 family movie, ‘Babe’, the composer’s third symphony perfectly showcases the scale of its namesake instrument. One evening performance only, in beautiful Peller Hall! Don’t miss a moment of this vibrant season, as Sinfonia Ancaster celebrates 10 years! · Moussa – Elysium · Saint-Saëns – Symphony No. 3 “Organ Symphony” (organ: Ian Sadler) · Elgar – Cello Concerto, ft. Amber Ghent
