2. Ski Martock

4. Annapolis Valley Trail System

5. Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia

6. Hockey Heritage Museum

9. Valley Drive-in

11. Kentville’s Memorial Park

12. Explore Miner’s Marsh

13. Oaklawn Farm Zoo

14. Avon River Days
The first full weekend in August, Windsor holds a three-day festival . The celebration begins with a street fair on Friday, continues with a parade through the town on Saturday, and ends with a bang on Sunday night with fireworks on the waterfront. 15. Cotton Tale Café

16. Willowbank U-Pick Farm
Spend a beautiful fall day at the Willowbank U-Pick Farm, located in Port Williams, visiting the petting zoo and the other farm animals that live there. Take a ride in the hay wagon with the family or let the kids ride a pony. There is an antique farm equipment museum that you can tour, and then visit the U-Pick to pick your own fresh fruit. 17. Digby Scallop Days
The Digby Scallop Days happen on the second weekend in August, and the whole weekend is packed full of events. There is AquaGolf, a Scallop BBQ, a costume pet show, and other children’s activities. 18. Pumpkin Palooza

22. See the Valley on Kings Transit
Along with driving across the Valley, there are transit buses that travel from Wolfville to Digby. Kings Transit travels on many of the back roads, where you can see many of the Valleys farms and the landscape. 23. Kentville Farmer’s Market

24. Noggins Corner Farm Market
The Noggins Corner Farm Market, located in Greenwich, is a wonderful place to take the kids. It has a Barnyard Adventure Area, where the kids can run, jump, slide and negotiate their way through a number of fun playground activities and mazes. 25. Centre for Small Farms
Spend the day at the Centre for Small farms, which is located behind the Just Us! Coffee Roasters in Grand Pre., learning about organic farming in the large garden area. Visit the “Largest Corn Maze” in the Valley, which is almost the size of a residential subdivision, at the Evans’ Family Farm in Wilmot. The maze challenge has visitors trying to collect all 6 stamps hidden in the maze, with successful people getting an apple when they finish the maze. 29. Dill’s Farm
The Dill’s Farm in Windsor is home of the late Howard Dill who developed the “Dill’s Atlantic Giant”, which is the World’s Largest Pumpkin Variety. There are many photo opportunities to take cute pictures of kids sitting in the huge pumpkins, especially in pumpkin season! 30. Stirlings Fruit Farms
Even though Stirlings Fruit Farms in Wolfville is open year round, the best time of year to visit with the kids is in the summer for the Strawberry U-Pick is open and in the early fall for the Apple and Pumpkin U-Picks. 31. The Sunflower Maze Farm
This unique historic farm is located in Falmouth, just a few miles away from Windsor and is only open in August and September. It is best known as ‘The Sunflower Maze Farm’ since it has sunflower maze for visitors to enjoy. The farm also has a special ‘butterfly release’ event in August that is beautiful to see. 32. Gates’ U-Pick
Head out with the kids to Gates’ U-Pick in Port Williams for an ‘All You Can Eat While Picking Apples” experience. While you are there, take a free wagon ride around the orchards. Just keep in mind that they are only open in September and October. Gates’ U-Pick
33. Kingsport Beach
Kingsport beach has large sand and mud flats during low tides, which make it perfect for building sand castles. The ocean is a great place to cool off. The red sedimentary cliffs carved by the erosion and the 12metre high tides. Kingsport Beach
34. Wolfville Reservoir Park
This park is not far from downtown Wolfville. There are well-groomed trails that are easy to walk, and there is an opening to the Minas Basin. You can also go swimming in the area that is sectioned off. Wolfville Reservoir Park
35. Aylesford Lake Beach
If the ocean is not your thing, Aylesford Lake Beach is the next best thing. There is a boardwalk, canteen, picnic areas, fully accessible parking, and a playground for the whole family to enjoy. Aylesford Lake Beach
36. Ross Farm
Ross Farm is a living heritage farm where everything is done in the traditional Nova Scotian ways. During the summer months, there are hands-on activities, including planting, wood-working, and candle making. 37. Upper Clements Park

38. Haliburton House
Unlike most museums, there are very few ropes and glass cases to keep you from touching and looking at the displayed items. There are old fashion toys and games for kids to enjoy. Visitors can also climb the viewing tower and enjoy the view of Windsor. Haliburton House
39. Windsor Playland Safari
This amusement park is located in the Windsor Exhibition grounds and is completely outside. Along with a waterslide, there is also mini-golf and go-karts on site. The park also has a canteen that has daily specials for visitors to enjoy. Windsor Playland Safari
40. Action Jax Family Fun Park
The Action Jax Family Fun Park is located 2 minutes outside of Annapolis Royal and is open from May until September. There is an arcade, mini-golf and go-kart racing for kids of all ages to enjoy. Action Jax Family Fun Park
41. Whale Watching
Mariner Cruises offers whale watching and bird watching tours around Brier Island. Often times, whales come very close to the boat, so wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet when you go whale watching.
42. Tubing on the Gaspereau River
Enjoy a tube ride down the Gaspereau River. It is popular with adults and kids alike on the hot summer days in the Valley. Tubes are available for rent at the head of the river for just $3 a tube. Tubing on the Gaspereau River
43. Eastcoast Balloon Adventures
Get a bird’s eye view of the breath-taking Annapolis Valley in an Eastcoast Balloon Adventures hot-air balloon. Each ride is 45 minutes to an hour long and needs to be booked in advance. Eastcoast Balloon Adventures
44. Evangeline Ride
This is a two-hour ride down the Evangeline Trail. No two rides are the same because there are many side trails to explore. They also have Wagon and Sleigh Rides for you to enjoy, especially if riding is not your thing. Evangeline Ride

50. Valley Provincial Park
On the North Mountain, right outside of Bridgetown is Valley Provincial Park. There are interpretive panels where kids can learn about the area and the local animals. 51. Apple Capital Museum

52. Fort Anne
Fort Anne National Historic Sites of Canada is Canada’s oldest remaining reminder of the time when the European empires where fighting over the Annapolis River. The Fort has a beautiful view of the Annapolis Basin. You can explore the fort yourself with the Xplorer Activity Booklet. Fort Anne
53. Greenwood Military Aviation Museum

55. Jubilee Park
The Jubilee Park, in Bridgetown, is a Natural Playground created by a group of Bridgetown residents. It is a unique play area for children that has elements that you could find in nature – sand, logs, boulders, hills, and stumps. 56. Trecothic Creek and Windsor Railway
Take the kids for a train ride at the Trecothic Creek and Windsor Railway. This ride-on model railway line is easy to find because it is tucked in behind the Windsor Exhibition Park. 63. Prescott House Museum
Take a drive out to Port Williams to tour this elegant Georgian house in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. Here, horticulturalist Charles Prescott cultivated Nova Scotia’s apple industry from 1811 to 1859. 66. Pumpkin Walk at Miners Marsh
The Pumpkin Walk at Miners Marsh is an annual event hosted by NSCC Kingstec. Each year hundreds of pumpkins are carved, placed along the walkway and lit up. 70. Kentville Ghost Walks
Be prepared for a fright when you go on a Valley Ghost Walk with Jerome the GraveKeeper and his ghostly friends. 71. Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens
Spend a day with the family at the Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens at Acadia University. The entrance to the Gardens is located off University Avenue, look for the cast iron archway that features the name of the Gardens. Take a stroll along the pathways, admire the wildflowers, relax on the benches, play and cartwheel on the lawns, and have a picnic but remember that there are no litter bins, so pack out what you pack in. 78. Kejimkujik National Park
Spend time with the family discovering the beauty and natural wonder of Kejimkujik National Park, which is the only Parks Canada site that is designated both a National Park and a National Historic site. During the day, explore the wilderness trails, lakes, and rivers – by foot or by canoe or kayak. At night, sleep under stars that shine without the interference of artificial light, in a park that is also a designated Dark Sky Preserve.

Take a tour of the historic seaside port of Digby with GAEL Tours. They are located on the shores of the Annapolis Basin in an area designated as the Fundy Aquarium Ecozone. Digby is also located in the UNESCO designated Southwest Nova Biosphere Reserve and is home to the world’s largest scallop fleet, with seafood being one of the main attractions of tourists to the town.
