Events Description
Meet your guide at the Kananaskis Country Visitor Centre at 9am. There you’ll complete an orientation, waivers, and medical forms before convoying approximately one hour to the trailhead. Getting to the trailhead includes driving maintained compact gravel roads covered in snow, and winter tires are required.
This 5-hour moderate and exhilarating tour takes you up 984 feet (300 meters) to a sub-alpine lake surrounded by towering cliffs in the heart of the wilderness in winter.
This tour includes a snack, snowshoes, local guide, and an interpretive component. You are required to come prepared with a camera, lunch, thermos of tea, day pack, warm insulated well-fitting winter boots for hiking in, toque, hat, mittens, scarf, wind jacket and pants, warm jacket, and extra layers.

- After registering, provide weight and boot size for fitting snowshoes
- Please come prepared with winter clothing, well fitting winter boots, food, and water for the day, it can reach temperatures of well below zero in the Rockies in the winter
- Hours of tour do not include driving time to and from the trail head
- Minimum age is 15 years
- Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
