Discover life on the Bow River in our 12 seat Canoe. Join us on an early evening or morning Big Canoe tour and learn fun facts about animal habitats, behaviors and conservation. Escape the bustling Banff streets and get back to nature. Enjoy paddling up the scenic Bow while keeping your eyes peeled for some of the locals – bald eagles, elk, muskrats and maybe even “Barry” our resident beaver. Let our informative guides share the best practices for wildlife encounters and discover the challenges they face with increasing human interaction. You can’t get a more scenic backdrop for an interpretive wildlife tour. It’s fun for all ages!

Meet at the Banff Canoe Club (Corner of Wolf Street & Bow Avenue) for your guided evening or early morning river tour.

Upon arrival, meet your tour guide, check in and get kitted with your life jacket and paddle. The first 30 minutes of the tour includes dry land instruction and information about the animals that reside in Banff National Park.

Once everyone is ready to go, your friendly guide will load you into one of our Big 12-seater canoes to start your water tour.

As you paddle as a team, with the guide steering the boat and sharing local stories and fun facts about animal habitats and behaviours, journey up the Bow River.
