Events Description

Cochrane and Area Events Society – 2020 Labour Day Parade Display

We are very happy to announce that we will be partnering with Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Center (SLSFSC) to organize and plan the Monday, September 7th Labour Day Parade. Of course, this year’s event will have to be different…

What can you expect:

  • Parade float entries
  • Roving and stationary entertainment and buskers
  • Food trucks
  • Safely prepared loot bags for the kids

How will it work:

  • Parade floats will be stationary and there will be a walking path for spectators to view the entries
  • In order to better control the number of people on-site at one time, we will encourage spectators to register for a specific time slot.
  • Tour guides will be on hand to maintain the pace for each group of spectators through the parade entries.

WHEN & WHERE

Date & Time:

Monday, September 7 2020 | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

It is anticipated that it will take spectators approximately 30 minutes to view the entries. Please allow a little flexibility as the parade display make take some additional time.

Venue: Spray Lake Sawmills Sports Centre (Parking lot), Griffin Road East, Cochrane

How are we making this safe:

  • In order to safely host this event, we are strongly encouraging everyone to wear masks. This will be for everyone’s utmost safety. With children just starting to attend school, we do not want to see a rise in numbers. Masks will be available for those who do not have one on-hand.
  • No candy will be thrown from the parade entries and no paper flyers are to be distributed.
  • Loot bags will be prepared in a controlled environment and 72 hours in advance. They will be handed out at the end of the parade route for the kids to enjoy.
  • Our Parade Display will not include horses or any other animals this year.
  • We are bound by Provincial restrictions to not allow the public to sing along with the entertainment unless wearing a mask.
  • Hand washing/sanitizing stations will be provided.
  • Controlled entries and exits.
  • Washroom facilities will be available
