Events Description
An Outlandish Experience. Beakerhead is an exhibition of awe-inspiring artworks, fire-breathing contraptions and contemporary curiosities. It is a world stage for artists, engineers, designers, scientists, inventors and performers. It is a festival of creativity, ingenuity, technology and art of Brobdingnagian proportions.
From fantastical fire-breathing dragon to magnificent garden of metalwork flora shooting fireballs and pouring flames and crane rides, see over 20+ installations at one location.
Highlights include:
The Long View Polar Bear: A gentle, 35-foot giant is visiting and settling into the Calgary skyline.
Paraluna: Lie beneath a blanket of mesmerizing moving LED lights as they spin and turn timed to the surrounding speakers in musical perfection.
Notorious B.A.D: Fantastical fire-breathing dragon emerging from the ground and preparing to spread his wings and you can order this monster of metal to breathe fire on command.
The Cube: Try and figure out how to use the interactive remotes and panels to communicate with this technologically intricate cube.
Effloressence: Magnificent garden of metalwork flora rises from a mass of gnarled roots shooting fireballs and pouring flames onto a bed of metal petals!
Jokeatron 5200: This funny fruit will be (banana) splitting sides by broadcasting your jokes across Beakerhead!
