No experience needed to have a great time at Calgary’s hippest live music Square Dance event, now in its third year. Adults and teens welcome to the Calgary Old-Time Experience’s social in the Irish Cultural Centre’s iconic dance hall. It’s an evening of squares, circles, longways and more, taught on the spot with caller Leslie Gotfrit, to the driving tunes of a Southern style string band. This is about fun and laughter, not fancy foot work, a high energy dance party where two left feet won’t hold anyone back. Everything you need to know to have a great time is quickly
taught and you’ll be dancing before you know it, prompted all the way through. The Irish Cultural Centre has plenty of free parking, a wooden dance floor and a CASH bar that sells excellent beer on tap or by the bottle (as well as other beverages).
