Chinatown Welcomes You! In celebration of the Lunar Year 4719, the Year of the Ox, the Chinatown Business Improvement Area (BIA) is placing five life size ‘Ox’ ice sculptures throughout Chinatown. Each of the sculptures are distinctly colored to harmonize with Calgary and Chinatown’s culture – the Chinese New Year tradition, Calgary’s diversity, community safety, compassion and love, and youth. Come to shop and dine in Chinatown – A Clean and Safe, a Must Visit Destination, and a Great Visitor Experience.
