Events Description
Cochrane Light Up signals the start of the holiday season and is one of this community’s favourite family events.
Light Up is a community and volunteer-driven event running since 1984 that brings 8000 or more visitors to Historic Downtown each year. The event includes free hot chocolate, hot dogs, festive holiday music, live carving demonstration, children’s tent, horse-drawn hayrides and Santa.
Highlights:
- The Cochrane Activettes kick off their annual “Share Your Christmas” campaign at Cochrane Light Up and welcome donations of food and gifts for those less fortunate.
- Children can do crafts and activities in the Childrens Tent and have a quick visit with Santa.
- Local choirs can be heard up and down the street with songs of the season.
- View the Gingerbread Competition houses displayed by merchants and vote for your favourite.
- Hamper raffle
- Random acts of kindness gift bags handed out randomly through the night containing fantastic goodies from our local businesses.
