On Saturday, July 11th, Southcentre Mall will cap off Stampede week by bringing the Community Pancake Drive-thru presented by GMC to the south side of the city. This FREE celebration will bring the community together as a reminder that although Stampede may look different this year, community spirit can never be cancelled.
Calgarians need to register online to secure their spot in line on July 11th. The event will have capacity to provide Stampede-style pancake breakfasts to up to 1,250 vehicles (no cap on the number of people in each vehicle) and each vehicle will register for a specific timeslot to pick up their meals between 9am and noon. Registration opens July 3 and will close at noon on July 10th, or when the maximum number of vehicles have been registered.
Unregistered vehicles or “walk-ins” will only be accommodated if volumes allow. In order to adhere to best practices for social distancing, meals will only be served to guests in vehicles – meals cannot be served to guests on foot, bicycles, scooters, etc. Registered guests will be asked to print off their confirmations (or have them available on their phones) and volunteers will check them in upon arrival at Southcentre. Meals will include a delicious selection of fresh pancakes off the grill, sausage, syrup and juice and will be served in closed lid clamshell containers.
