Events Description

Corps Bara Dance Theatre presents Facing the Light, a fully immersive and collaborative evening of visual art, dance and artisan creations centred around the theme of exploring the intersection of darkness and light. Facing the Light grapples with a social association of light as pleasing, and spirituality as feel-good by asking questions; what about the association between rest and darkness? Light and being exposed? This show is looking at how light structures our space and life rhythms, impacts our mental and emotional well-being, as well as researching the physical reality of light as electromagnetic waves transferring energy. We wrestle with the underbelly of light, searching for the good, inside the unpleasant.

Accompanying the work is Dayna Ellen’s visual art show “Epiphany; Embracing Sky,” which will be accessible during cSpace business hours in the first floor hallway gallery in addition to pre and post-show times.

Following the evening performances we will host a small vendors market curated to provide conscious Christmas shopping opportunities in order to spread some light.
