Events Description
The Society is currently working towards having Weaselhead Park designated as a Nocturnal Preserve through the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.
Join us to learn about the importance that dark skies have on the plants and animals in an environment. We will provide information on what actions we, as a park, plan to take to become a nocturnal preserve. In addition to this we will highlight how you can minimize the light pollution of your homes and businesses. What better time to learn about the effects of light pollution than during Earth Hour?
Hike will be about 4-5km in length- partly on paved pathways, and partly on uneven hiking trails. Pathways may be icy. Please wear appropriate footwear, consider bringing microspikes for boots.
