Events Description
Many Chief Tours has partnered with Calgary’s new winter festival called Chinook Blast to share a free self-guided audio tour showcasing local Indigenous storytellers from Treaty 7.
Those who are interested are invited to visit St. Patrick’s Island in Calgary’s East Village between Feb. 13 and Feb. 28, 2021 and find one of the event signs on the island promoting the free Indigenous audio tour. Hint – one of the signs is at the bottom of the ramp that takes you from the George C. King Bridge down to St. Patrick’s Island. The sign includes a QR code and when you scan the code with your smartphone it will take you to a free website with links to the audio stories to enjoy while you explore St. Patrick’s Island.
The audio tour includes a land acknowledgement and three Blackfoot stories including two stories from Rebecca Many Grey Horses who is a Blackfoot subject matter expert at the Galt Museum in Lethbridge.
