An honouring and celebration of the buffalo of Sunnyside in Mohkinstsis (Calgary)
Come out to honour and celebrate the Iinii, the buffalo that once were a part of this robust environment. Create beautiful lanterns to carry in procession, watch films, share in song, dance, and story, and celebrate the history of the buffalo of this land. Guided by Blackfoot Elder, Raymond Many Bears with additional stories by Troy Emery Twigg, and lantern-puppets from “Iinisikimm” a homecoming for the buffalo of Canada. Drumming by Anders Hunter of Eya Hey Nakoda.
Build lanterns in free workshops and join the procession that will end in a round dance.
