Jan’s Amazing Race

Mayoral candidate Jan Damery is organising ‘Jan’s Amazing Race’ – a weekend of fun activities and challenges designed to get people out and about exploring the city. It’s a way to celebrate local business and discover and highlight what’s best about our city.

We are also hoping to engage younger voters and Calgarians, as well as giving people something fun to do over the long weekend.

Many of the prizes have been purchased from local start-ups, including an Indigenous owned businesses. We are hoping to highlight some of our wonderful local businesses and have been engaging with many on social media whilst promoting the event.

We’ve also received a donated prize from Lori Beattie, a local author, who is giving us a signed copy of one of her books, and she has also signed up to take part in Jan’s Amazing Race.

Format: participants will receive their challenge pack via email on Friday, and will have until 3pm on Sunday to complete as many challenges and activities as they like. We’ll then have a party at the campaign office on Sunday at 3pm to celebrate and award prizes to participants.
