Come try sword techniques used by Japanese samurai of long ago at Ka Muso Kai’s Open House in Calgary. KMK Calgary offers classes in four unique Japanese weapons-based martial arts:

Iaido: The art of drawing the sword quickly from its scabbard to deal with a sudden attack.
Jodo: The way of the short staff, an art used by the Japanese police to this day.
Hyoho Niten Ichi Ryu: the two-sword Japanese martial art founded by the famous samurai, Miyamoto Musashi.
Choken Battojutsu Kagéryu: one of the last surviving arts of the Japanese long-sword.

All you need to start are comfortable workout clothes, a water bottle and a willingness to try something new.

Founded in 2004, Ka Muso Kai is a martial arts club with dojos in Calgary, Saskatoon, and Antigonish. Ka Muso Kai is a member of the Canadian Kendo Federation.
