Oktoberfest began as a wedding celebration more than 200 years ago when Bavaria’s Crown Prince Ludwig married Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen on Oct. 12, 1810.
Since then this German festival is now a worldwide phenomenon celebrating Bavarian culture and flowing pints of beer.
We at The Calgary Rugby Union are excited to host our Oktoberfest.
Get ready to indulge in the delightful sounds of our oompah band and feast on the finest German fares.
Registered teams will automatically be granted tent access.
This event will be open to any and all clubs that would like to register and all community members that would like to come to have fun! There will be a Beer Tent, Glass Steins, a German Band, Bratwurst, and more! So get your lederhosen and dirndls on and come have some fun!
