Events Description

Blue Light Studio has stepped up the online concert experience for 2021 with the purchase of a 360-degree camera that allows the viewer to immerse themselves into the concert experience, watching with a VR headset, or with their mobile/desktop web browser. If you’ve seen how a 360-degree photo allows the user to scroll around the photo, this technology brings that interaction to live video! Kicking off a series of free, online 360 degree shows for Blue Light Sessions is Vancouver band, Small Town Artillery!

Originally from Kaslo, BC and now based in Vancouver, Small Town Artillery is both rock and roll, complete with horn section and endless energy. Founding members and blood brothers, Tom and Derek van Deursen, have been playing together for 20 years.

Signed to JumpAttack! Records, Small Town Artillery played more than 60 shows in 2019, including Edge Of The World Festival on Haida Gwaii and Kaslo Jazz Festival, opening for Five Alarm Funk across Ontario and at Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom, plus organizing and headlining their own street festival called East Van Block Party, with over 1,000 people in attendance. Set to explode onto the national scene in spring 2020, the band was booked to play 42 dates across Canada from Alert Bay BC to Halifax NS, with the pandemic declaration happening one week before they were set to hit the road. Now, armed in 2021 with a large satchel of their best new material yet, Small Town Artillery is excited to share their music with everyone once again. The band’s early success & growth are attributed to their incredible live show, and the shared effort between two brothers to see a childhood dream realized.
