Translating the subtle shifts in light and colour of the Southern Alberta landscape caused by the changing seasons and weather into an exquisite array of handwoven textiles, Judy Sysak explores her daily relationship with her surroundings. Using her Japanese Saori loom and the Saori philosophy of weaving yourself, and recognizing the difference between man and machine, she strives for the “perfectly imperfect” – a true expression of her creative spirit.
