Grades 9-12 students in Canada! Join this free, online hackathon to learn data science skills, including coding and data analysis, to “sustain life” on Mars. If you enjoy puzzles and problem solving, this event is for you!

This hackathon is run by Callysto, a federally-funded program fostering data science skills (coding, data analysis and visualization) in classrooms across Canada.

Grades 9-12 teachers in Canada are also welcome to participate.

Date: Wednesday August 5, 2020 to Monday August 10, 2020

A week prior to the event, registrants will receive full instructions. Once the hackathon starts on August 5, 2020 this will be an “asynchronous” event, meaning you’ll get an overview of the instructions and then have time to work on your challenge individually (or in groups, if you choose).

1. Wednesday, August 5, 2020: Join the online launch session
at 10:00AM Mountain Daylight Time (MDT).

2. Thursday, August 6 – Friday, August 7, 2020: Work on your hackathon challenge. Support will be provided remotely.

3. Monday, August 10, 2020: Submit your hackathon challenge
at 2:00PM MDT.

4. Wednesday, August 12, 2020: Watch your email for the winner announcement!
