“Heavily influenced by soul, funk, blues, and rock & roll, Taylor Scott’s music transcends the limitations of a single genre. His diversely influenced rock & roll group, The Taylor Scott Band, is a high-powered extension of this mélange of sounds.” — Blues Society of Omaha
Taylor Scott Band simply kills it night after night. Good luck trying to sit down or stay still. In addition to touring and recording with his own band, Scott has recorded and toured the US, Canada and Europe with blues legend Otis Taylor and in 2015 played alongside the likes of Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers, Gov’t Mule) on Taylor’s critically acclaimed release, “Hey Joe Opus: Red Meat.” As music journalist Daniel Shaw says, “There’s no stopping Taylor Scott and this band, and there shouldn’t be. They’re just too good. Get the album. Go see them. Then go see them again.”
So thrilled were we with Taylor Scott’s performance here at the Gallery in 2017, that we felt compelled to provide a reference: “Not only were the Taylor Scott Band sensational players but their communication was seamless. You could tell they love their craft and work together to provide an extraordinary performance. During soundcheck when the keyboard malfunctioned, there were no harsh words or disgruntled band members. They problem-solved together with obvious respect for the input of each, and clear deference to their kind, considerate and charismatic leader, Taylor Scott. Taylor quickly formed a plan and the show opened on time with no compromise to their multi-faceted compositions. It was a total pleasure to have the Taylor Scott Band at our venue.
