Your day will begin at the Barrier Lake Day Use Area, where you will climb into our voyageur canoe and paddle the breathtaking Barrier Lake. A leisurely paddle along the shore of this lake is the perfect addition to any visit to Kananaskis. As you paddle along the rugged shoreline surrounded by mountains, be sure to watch for the wildlife that frequent this area!
Once you return to shore, you will drive south on the picturesque Highway 40, and right into cowboy country. When you arrive at Boundary Ranch, you will enjoy a sumptuous ranch lunch before heading out on horseback.
This trail ride is a great introduction to our riding terrain: You will travel through wooded trails, past picturesque ponds with the Kananaskis Range towering against the blue Alberta skies.

Stop At: Barrier Lake, Highway 40 1 hour’s drive east of Calgary, Alberta Canada

Who is it for?
- This family-friendly activity is perfect for anyone ages 6+.
- Voyageur Canoe Portion of tour is sold as per family/cohort, minimum 4 adults maximum of 9 participants.
- We expect guests to be in good health for the tour, please take the COVID-19 self-assessment prior to the tour (https://myhealth.alberta.ca/journey/covid-19/Pages/COVID-Self-Assessment.aspx). In the case of yourself or someone in your group qualifying for self-isolation or COVID-19 testing, please notify our shop as soon as possible to arrange for a Raincheck and alternate tour date.
