Events Description
The Zero Waste Market is an all-day market and showcase produced by Plastic-Free YYC and Springboard Performance that aims to raise awareness of our growing plastic problem and promote a zero-waste lifestyle. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with organizations and businesses across Calgary who promote zero-waste living and sustainability. Local zero-waste businesses will sell various sustainable products at the market, and non-profit organisations will share interactive exhibits focused on raising awareness and enacting sustainable social change.
Two performances will also be held throughout the day. Wastelands by Savannah Harvey is an interactive theatre performance that focuses on the impacts of waste. And Eily Aurora will play along to the frequencies produced by plants with her harp. The showtimes are 20 minutes each and are as follows:

The safety of all of our exhibitors and attendees is very important to us. As such, market attendance has been limited to a 30-min window for all participants and we assigned a maximum amount of entries to each time slot. Register and book your preferred time slot today!
What to expect:
Arrive at containR (1020 2 Ave. N.W.) at the beginning of your time slot and enjoy your walk-through of the Zero Waste Market!
When you arrive at the Zero Waste Market, expect to a market layout that will allow you to interact with all of our exhibitors while social distancing. Exhibitor booths, washrooms, and other high-touch areas will be sanitized regularly. Hand sanitizer will also be available. Please social distance by staying 2 meters away from other attendees at all times, follow the marked layout, and make use of our hand sanitizer. Wearing a mask is not required though it is strongly encouraged. Your name and email will be recorded through Eventbrite for the purposes of contact tracing. If someone attending the event develops symptoms of Covid-19, this contact information will be forwarded to Alberta Health Services. Please do not attend the Zero Waste Market if you have any symptoms of Covid-19.
