The “Maintain Your Brain – NMHI Public Lecture” takes place in conjunction with Brain Awareness Week. Brain Awareness Week is a worldwide effort organized by the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives and the Society for Neuroscience to promote public awareness regarding the benefits of neuroscience research. This year, our focus for the public lecture will be obtaining and maintaining brain health with a wide range of foci relating to the topic.
The event on March 19th will run 2 hours from 6pm-8:00pm with a one-hour lecture, a subsequent 30 min panel discussion, and a final networking session until 8:00pm. During the networking session, we are hoping to invite people to join an active discussion about the lecture’s various topics. As we are trying to encourage a broad spectrum of information and expertise, we have various organisations run booths about their missions and values at the session. With an audience made up of faculty, students, and interested members of the public there will likely be a diverse set of people with different views and interests present.
