Join us at a literacy themed McDonald’s Family Night event to celebrate Family Literacy Day on January 29th and inspire your child’s love of reading! This special event will feature live readings of My Forest is Green by Canadian author, Darren LeBeuf. Children in attendance will also receive a copy of the author’s book to take home (100 copies available).
The event is in celebration of a partnership between McDonald’s Canada and First Book Canada, further showcasing McDonald’s ongoing commitment to literacy in Canada. They have teamed up to donate 400 books to every province and territory across Canada. The book donations will go directly to local community centres, with a portion given out in select McDonald’s restaurants.
They will also donate additional books to the 15 Ronald McDonald Houses across the country, to update and replenish their Free Little Libraries. This donation provides families of sick children staying at the Houses with books to make their stay feel more like home. The partnership comes two years after launching the Happy Meal® book or toy option, with over 9.5 million books distributed since 2017.
