Events Description

Made you scream! Spend a chilling evening with horror screenwriter Susie Moloney and veteran film director Eva Colmers as they discuss their process, from idea to page to screen, for the award-winning, horrifying short film The Suburbanight. With a screening and discussion, you’ll go home sure to keep the lights on. Muwhahahahaha!

Join us for a screening of The Suburbanight and a post-screening discussion with screenwriter Susie Moloney and director Eva Colmers in a conversation hosted by Michelle Steinhusen.

Susie Moloney is an award-winning novelist, screenwriter, and columnist; her first feature film, the horror-thriller Bright Hill Road, was released in 2020. Her other novels, Bastion Falls, The Dwelling, and The Thirteen have also sold in multiple countries, and languages. She is the author of a collection of short fiction, Things Withered.

Eva Colmers is an award-winning director and producer of 18 films in the dramatic, comedy and documentary genre – mostly shorts and some long formats including TheSuburbanight, Happy Birthday, Mango!, Not a One-Way Street, 2.57k, and Granny Baby. She has also written and directed the NFB documentaries We Regret to Inform You…,The Elder Project and The Enemy Within. Her TV work includes directing for APTN’s series Caution May Contain Nuts and more.
