Events Description
Music with Mandy has been inspiring the next generation of jazz fans since its inception in August 2017. Mandy Morris uses her training as a jazz vocalist combined with her experience as a music and early childhood educator to entertain children and their families while simultaneously educating them on jazz form, history, instrumentation and creation. Her debut album “On the Sunny Side of the Street” was released in September 2018 and is thrilling listeners young and old with her playful interpretation of standards and jazzy renditions of pop tunes and children’s music that are sure to help you connect with your inner child. Music with Mandy has played for many packed houses in Alberta and Manitoba with her band; Matt Morris (keys), Kodi Hutchinson (bass), Ian Yule (drums), at venues like The National Music Centre, Calgary Public Library for Jazz YYC’s International Jazz Day and the Medicine Hat Public Library.
“Stories” is the newest project by Music with Mandy. This show explores the oral tradition of children’s music as a way to share our cultural history with a new generation and the stories that children are creating with their families today. Sing, dance and play with Mandy as she shares jazz with a new generation.
