Transmission: Open Air Celebrating 40 years of alternative music & subculture
Featuring…. DJs Blue Jay & Eddie LunchPail
Transmission is a decade-running alternative dance party. Long time friends Blue Jay and Eddie LunchPail established a night that encompasses the underground club nights of the 70s to today with a focus on alt-indie-electro music from around the world.
DJ Blue Jay has been DJing Edmonton’s Alternative and Underground Night Club scene for over 20 years. He has had regular residences at local night clubs and bars including The Rev, Lush, New City, Fluid, Halo, The Pawn Shop, Black Dog, The Common, 9910, The Starlite Room, and The Buckingham.
DJ Blue Jay plays a wide range of musical genres, including 50’s Rock n Roll, to 60’s rock and Soul, to 70’s Classic Rock and Disco, to 80’s New Wave and Goth, to 90’s Alternative Rock, Brit Pop and Electronica, to 2000’s Indie Rock, to groundbreaking music of today and tomorrow.
Eddie LunchPail has been DJing in the underground alternative music scene for the last 28 years, spinning at a number of clubs and events around town. His style of alt. indie, electro music has also been showcased on a couple of different, long running radio shows on CJSR FM 88
