Travelling dishes is back again for its third leg on a 4 stop city-wide Nigerian food tasting tour. In this second half of the tour, guests will be treated to an interactive dinning experience designed to showcase some of Nigeria’s most popular “buka” or street food with a modern twist. Guests will receive a hands-on experience to learn about common spices and ingredients used in Nigerian culinary while enjoying a 3-course brunch menu that has been carefully selected to feature some of these items.
This event will be hosted at the charming Cafe Lavi, nestled in the extended wing of the historical Gariepy Mansion downtown Edmonton. Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed to a social/happy hour where they will be treated to light refreshments while mingling and connecting with other guests over Nigerian music. They will then be invited to dine while exploring locally sourced Nigerian ingredients and learning about the origin of some of Nigeria’s most popular dishes. Finally guests will be gifted with a Travelling Dishes recipe of a simple Nigerian dish to make at home.
While enjoying authentic food, music and atmosphere that showcases the culture, guests will understand why Nigerian cuisine is so special.
