Events Description

A cultural celebration of the harvest moon. Events include fire performances, illuminated sculptures, campfires, food and entertainment.

The free event produced by Alderney Landing will provide the opportunity for thousands of people to experience hands on cultural diverse art forms through fire and water activities. The Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre Artists have created sculptures that will be installed on the thirteen Pillars around the events plaza, that will be illuminated, educating the public about the 13 Mi’kmaw communities in the
province.

The completed large sculptures (24ft long by 18ft in height) innovatively represent the six continents to be illuminated and installed on two barges, in front of the Alderney Landing Events Plaza as the show piece for the Festival. Three fire circles will form the center of the festival grounds.

Interactive art projects, flaming food, blacksmiths, fire artists and main stage music will round out the event.
