Katie brings together two very diverse worlds and shows attendees how to pair and enjoy different teas and chocolates together.

We will sample six custom made gourmet chocolates paired with six unique teas and learn how to expand our palates and create our own pairings at home. Guests will learn how to “sip tea like a Sommelier” and leave the workshop with a renewed sense of appreciation for both tea & chocolate!

The Art of the Blend | Sunday, November 7, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. | In-person workshop at RBG Centre | $40 + Service Fee

When it comes to teas, the skies are the limit for the different flavour profiles and ingredients one can use for making a blend. Sure, you can use anything to flavour a tea, but what is it that’s needed to make a really effective blend? By understanding the ingredients and the flavours that can be used for making a flavourful, insightful, healthful tea or tisane you will gain a greater appreciation for your daily brew.

Amy will discuss how she addresses the flavours and materials for blending teas and tisanes. She also will teach you how to understand how certain flavours do and don’t work so your ingredients can be used in your blending experience. In this class you will have a hands on experience as you will be able to blend up your own personal blend to take home and enjoy! Notes and supplies included in the program.

We will discuss the complexities of designing a medicinal garden in southern Ontario that incorporates plants from around the world, and how to honour the many traditions that have informed our understanding of them.
