Events Description

Kingston’s darkest stories & best-kept secrets:

• Downtown Kingston
• The Back of Fort Henry Hill and Deadman’s Bay
• The Cataraqui Cemetery and Grave of Sir John A Macdonald
• The Rockwood Asylum
• Kingston Penitentiary
At the Cataraqui Cemetery you’ll have the opportunity to disembark for an evening stroll among notable graves – none more so than that of Canada’s First Prime Minister: Sir John A Macdonald.

Kingston is one of the oldest cities in Ontario, and has amassed an impressive list of hauntings and mysterious stories: The horrors of Kingston Penitentiary, child deaths at Bellevue House, the fair maiden ghost of Cedar Island. What happened when graves were robbed in Skeleton Park and why one can still stumble upon them today? What is the peculiar story explaining why grass won’t grow at the foot of Sir John A. Macdonald’s tomb? Find out for yourself!

Tour Highlights

  • Cataraqui Cemetery – Visit the final resting place of Canada’s first Prime Minister, Sir. John A. MacDonald, among other historic grave sites.
  • Rockwood Asylum – Opening in 1878 and surviving until 2000 under various names, this building holds a lot of dark and unanswered history.

Kingston has issued a public health order making masks mandatory inside any indoor public setting. A face mask for every guest above the age of 2 will be required on this tour. Please bring your own mask as they will not be provided.

Family-Friendly Ghost & Mystery – Climb aboard this day-time version of our popular Ghost & Mystery tour. The stories are a little less spooky but no less fun! This all ages event is great for kids and our younger guests are encouraged to come dressed in their Halloween costumes. A goodie-bag lies in wait for every boil and ghoul.

Ghost & Mystery After Dark 19+ – The stories get a little more frightening and gruesome after dark. Join us for this adults-only version of the Ghost & Mystery tour if you’re in for a bigger scare. After the tour we’ll abandon you at the Tir Nan Og, a popular Kingston pub, nestled within one of the city’s oldest buildings.
