The city’s Canada Day Committee is going ahead with a community celebration in a new and unique way due to Covid-19 to mark Canada’s 153rd birthday.
Fredericton’s Canada Day Virtual Concert
The day will include a wide range of entertainment including some family-oriented acts early in the day including Scotty and the Stars, The Calithumpians, Multicultural dancers, and many others.
Later in the day music will take center stage with popular local performers like Kill Chicago, Keith Hallett, My Black Ram, and many others will perform. (a full schedule will be released on Friday).

The performers will be using two different stages in a large production area to make sure performers and production staff can practice social distancing. For safety reasons the performances will be closed to the public. The National Canada Day celebration will also be a virtual broadcast this year. The local Fredericton show will make way for the national broadcast between 2 – 3 pm and at 9 pm.
Fredericton Canada Day Decorating Challenge
In addition to virtual concert, the Committee is also hosting the “Fredericton Canada Day Decorating Challenge” and are encouraging all residents to decorate their property to show our national pride. More details on the decorating challenge will be released soon.
To provide an added incentive we are announcing a competition to see which part of Fredericton has more community spirit, Fredericton North, or Fredericton South. Judges will be out June 30 and July 1st. So show your community spirit.
