About Kawartha Settlers’ Village, Bobcaygeon, Ontario

What was once a thriving family farm, Kawartha Settlers’ Village is now home to a fascinating collection of over 20 historic homes and buildings. Experience what life was like for pioneers in the Kawartha’s as you stroll leisurely through the Village and discover artifacts from 1830 – 1935.

Kawartha Settlers’ Village which was established in 1990 with the goal to preserve the history and culture of the Bobcaygeon area which was slowly disappearing. Today, the Village is run by the Kawartha Region Arts and Heritage Society which is a volunteer, Board of Director run, charitable, non-profit organization.

With over 20 historical houses and buildings, there are many things to look at and explore during your self guided tour. There is an audio tour available for those keen on learning more about each building and the history of Bobcaygeon and its settlers.

Kawartha Settlers’ Village hosts school class visits based on the Ontario Curriculum and four, week long summer camps for children 6-10 years old.

KSV is also a perfect setting for family reunions,meetings and weddings!

Kawartha Settlers’ Village is located in beautiful Bobcaygeon under the water tower. We are a 15 mins walk from the Locks* and the Downtown Core.

Accessible washrooms are located directly behind the Office.

Most of the buildings are wheelchair accessible where possible. There is a walker and wheelchair available to use.

Pets:

Pets kept on a lease are welcome. Please remember to clean up after your animals.

Dining Options:

While there is not a restaurant on site, there are picnic tables for guests to enjoy a packed lunch. There are many food options within Bobcaygeon.
