~FRIDAY JUNE 5

Metis Kitchen Party

7:30 – 9:00pm

Prairie Fire Jiggers

• Prairie Fire is a fun family dance group that started out as Jaime and the Jiglets with their mother Artist – Jaime Koebel. They are a lively and interactive group that also aims to teach audiences about #Metis culture and the joy of the jig.

Fiddleground

• Multi-instrumentalist David Finkle from Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory ON, Fiddler Anthony Brascoupe from Kitigan-Zibi QUE and various Metis Jiggers make up the Fiddling Sensation ‘FIDDLEGROUND’. Get ready for blistering blasts of fiddling fury and the fast, jigging feet, FIDDLEGROUND will entertain you with traditional tunes from the time of the voyageurs paddling these very waters.

Amanda Rheaume

• Amanda Rheaume, is an award winning Métis singer-songwriter hailing from Ottawa with a slightly gritty, deeply personal and instantly accessible Americana sound. An engaging performer, Rheaume has developed a following across Canada and in Europe, where she tours regularly. One of her great gifts as a songwriter is her ability to take the personal and make it universal, drawing upon her own experience to deliver messages with a wide resonance. Her fifth album, “The Skin I’m In” (2019) presents a compellingly portrait of an artist fully comfortable in her own skin, personally and musically. Amanda is also on the team of people that runs the International Indigenous Music Summit.
